Abstract. In 1979, a constructional complex, identified by the authors of the excavations as a dugout, was investigated at the Elizavetovskoye ancient settlement. The stratigraphical context and analysis of the construction features have already been published earlier. While investigating the complex, human skulls and votive objects were discovered. This made it possible for the authors to assume the cult nature of the building. In this article, the materials found in the filling of the building and stored in the Rostov Regional Museum of Local History are discussed. Working with objects from the museum’s collections, as well as exposure to scientific reports, made it possible to present an in-depth analysis of this complex. Among the materials, there are few findings from an earlier period (the neck of the Thasos amphora and the stamps of Thasos, Heraklea, Knidos, and Chersonesos), dated from the middle to the second half of the 4th century BC. Their presence is explained by further destruction of the object caused by operating activity. The bulk of objects from the filling are represented by amphora stamps, including the most significant Sinopean imprints with the names of astynomoi of groups IVB and VA (dated late 290s – early 270s BC). The stamps of other centers (Thasos, Chersonesos, Heraklea or the Western Pontica center, and Alexandria in Troad) fit into the same chronological framework. A well-preserved amphora of Punic type, extremely rare for the Northern Black Sea region (fig. 5.1), is of significant interest. In addition, among the materials there were also fragments of various black-glazed vessels (kantharoi, bowls, a fish plate, a salt cellar, etc.). The conducted analysis of the material has allowed us to establish that the filling of the site took place in the early 270s BC. There are also other known constructional complexes at the Elizavetovskoye ancient settlement, the destruction and filling of which occurred at this time.
Key words: Elizavetoskoe ancient settlement, Hellenism, dugout, amphorae stamps, Punic amphora.
